Young Dad
I created this blog to simply talk about my life as a father. I am 23 and my daughter is almost 3. My wife and I are expecting another in July, so I will have much to talk about. I am not that young, but I think the blog title fits well with. Feel free to comment if you can relate in any way, and always remember what matters most :)

The Day My Life Changed
Hey guys, I want to share my story of what it was like for me when I found out I was going to be a dad. If you are a new or expecting father and can relate to what I have to say; please share you're stories too. This can be a place where we can share meaningful conversations and talk about what's on our minds openly. I was 20 years old when I got the news. I was a sophomore in college. I was working full time and going to school, and I was living on my own with my girlfriend in our small 1br apartment. I remember the moment clear as day...I woke up to the my girlfriend telling me she was pregnant. It's hard to explain in words what that moment is like, and if you have been in this situation you know what I am talking about. I tried to think of what to say, but I found I could not think of all. I had never felt so many emotions at once; it was quite an overwhelming experience. My heart was pounding and my mind was racing; it's crazy how fast you're life can change. I did my best to collect my thoughts, tried to rationalize and analyze the situation. I guess we do what must to keep calm, and that was my way of doing so. I couldn't contain the fear, excitement, anxiousness, etc. My emotions had never been so clearly visible; it truly is a life-changing experience. As the days progressed, the reality sank in, and I became adjusted to living the lifestyle of an expecting father. The multiple doctor's visits and the move back in with my parents became a part of my everyday life. I will never forget the day I was made instantly vulnerable and became grounded.
Funny Moment of the Day
In order to capture the little moments that make life special, I will write one post a day about the funny thing my daughter did...I encourage you to comment and share you're stories, because you can't make this stuff up folks.
New Years Day 2012
I wake up to a familiar sound. The little voice fluctuates back and forth between the two simple words. "Mommy...Daddy...Mommy...Daddy." This goes on for a couple of minutes, getting progressively faster until the words blur together and I am pulled out of dream state. My daughter is ready to eat; she wants her cereal and she is not patient in this regard. I think I know where she gets that, and its not from her mother :)....knowing I am unable to delay the inevitable any longer (the classic "go play with your toys for a minute baby" has lost its effect, if it had any in the 1st place. I get up and grab the fruit loops and turn on the cartoons. The pot of coffee cannot brew quickly enough, but I am up either way. New years resolution...keep her happy and put her 1st always, because there's nothing better than waking up in such a way.
